Live Scan Fingerprinting
APEX Live Scan provides both types of Live Scan services, digital and ink fingerprinting services:
Both methods are used to conduct a criminal background check the difference between them are:
Digital is a computer-based, inkless electronic fingerprinting; candidate fingerprints are digitally submitted directly to DOJ and/or the FBI.
Ink finger printing is capturing fingerprints using ink and cards. Even though this method may be lengthy and antiquated, it may be necessary when a candidate requires prints for another state.

WHAT IS A LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING?
Live Scan fingerprinting is the technique and technology used to capture fingerprints electronically. It replaces the more traditional method of ink and paper. The fingerprints are electronically transmitted to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for a criminal record check.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
- Employer/Agency Live Scan Form
- Government Issued ID/DL
Valid and current state Issued ID/DL
Valid and Current Passport
Uniformed Services ID card
Foreign passport with appropriate immigration documents
USCIS Permanent Resident Card (I-551)
USCIS Employment Authorization card (I-766)

Fees are based on the level and/or type of livescan service provided, the requesting agency, and a rolling fee. Please call 858.310.6252 for pricing.
HOURS OF OPERATIONS
Office Hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4 pm
After hours:
- Monday to Friday 4pm to 8pm
- Saturday to Sunday 8am to 8pm
