Live Scan Fingerprinting
Live Scan is a computer-based, inkless electronic fingerprinting. Used to conduct a criminal background check, candidate fingerprints are digitally submitted to the appropriate state and federal agencies. The lengthy and “antiquated" fingerprinting procedure of capturing fingerprints using ink and cards is replaced with Live Scan technology. Keep in mind many states still require physical ink fingerprinting.

In addition, if applicants with specific active arrests or convictions are employed or licensed when legislation prohibits such action based on the successful completion of a criminal background check, employment, and licensing authorities may be subject to legal liability.

WHAT IS A LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING?
Live Scan fingerprinting is the technique and technology used to capture fingerprints electronically. It replaces the more traditional method of ink and paper. The fingerprints are electronically transmitted to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for a criminal record check.

Any Person applying to institutions or any profession requiring employment licensing or certification; anyone working or in a voluntary position involving minors…
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?
Please bring the items listed below to your Live Scan Session:
- Employer/Agency Live Scan Form
- Any of the following: Current State DL or ID. A valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport.
- Passport Booklet or Card.
COST
This will depend on what type of live scan you are
requesting and the rolling fee the agency is charging.
