Live Scan Fingerprinting
APEX Live Scan provides both types of Live Scan services, digital and ink fingerprinting services:
Both methods are used to conduct a criminal background check the difference between them are:
Digital is a computer-based, inkless electronic fingerprinting; candidate fingerprints are digitally submitted directly to DOJ and/or the FBI.
Ink finger printing is capturing fingerprints using ink and cards. Even though this method may be lengthy and antiquated, it may be necessary when a candidate requires prints for another state.

In addition, if applicants with specific active arrests or convictions are employed or licensed when legislation prohibits such action based on the successful completion of a criminal background check, employment, and licensing authorities may be subject to legal liability.

WHAT IS A LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING?
Live Scan fingerprinting is the technique and technology used to capture fingerprints electronically. It replaces the more traditional method of ink and paper. The fingerprints are electronically transmitted to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for a criminal record check.

- Identification
Valid and current state Issued ID/DL
Valid and Current Passport
Uniformed Services ID card
Foreign passport with appropriate immigration documents
USCIS Permanent Resident Card (I-551)
USCIS Employment Authorization card (I-766)
